Even as a child, I was passionate about drawing and painting. At the age of 12 or 13, I was already creating my first small landscape paintings in oil, mountain motifs and sailing ships on moving water and the like, which were enthusiastically received by my relatives. I later studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg, specialising in children's book illustration. After graduating, I worked in various advertising agencies, mostly in northern Germany. In my free time, I sketched and painted a lot and also exhibited occasionally.

As a pensioner, I finally returned to Würzburg, where I had spent some unforgettable years in my youth. Here I devoted myself fully to painting again. As an artist, I strive to break new ground, i.e. to create something new through experimentation, my vision is to consciously set myself apart from the familiar through colour reduction and alienation on the one hand, and through the ‘picture in picture’ method on the other.
